The Web is by now the primary communication platform for many people, offering services for text chat, audio/video conferences or document sharing. There's one thing, though, that all these Web services have in common: they're server-centric. All data shared between users passes a central Web server. Therefore the W3C and the IETF are currently working on WebRTC, a technology for enabling browsers to establish direct audio/video and generic data connections among each other. WebRTC opens up new uses cases that were not possible until now on the Web. In this talk we will introduce you to the development of WebRTC applications, showing code examples and demos of such new uses cases. On top of that we present BOPlish, our prototypical implementation of name-based content dissemination between Web users. BOPlish encompasses the vision of a server-less web where users don't need to rely on a custom infrastructure like web server or DNS entries for sharing content with other users.
